Kenya won the toss and elected to bat first, but Zimbabwe restricted them to 122/6. With the exception of Rakep Patel (65 off 47 balls), Kenya's batsmen performed dismally.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza was the most economical bowler. However, he went wicketless in his allotted overs. Blessing Muzarabani performed well, taking two wickets in four overs, while Richard Ngarava, Brad Evans, and Tinotenda Maphosa each took one wicket.
By the end of the powerplay of the run chase, the match was almost decided. Brian Bennett was dismissed on the second ball of the seventh over, but before that, he had scored 51 runs in just 25 balls. Ryan Burrell and Tony Munyonga led their team to victory. Vraj Patel and Gondaria bowled well, but Kenya could not win.
In the initial stages of the tournament, they were fortunate to advance from Group A due to a slightly better net run rate than Nigeria. Excluding Zimbabwe and Namibia, the other teams in the T20 World Cup 2026 are: India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the United States, the West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, and the Netherlands. The final three spots will be decided in the Men's T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier 2025.
