Indian team's young opener Abhishek Sharma caught everyone's attention with his stellar performance in the five-match T20 series played in Australia. The Punjab batsman scored 163 runs and was named Player of the Series. His hard work and consistent practice are also credited to his mentor, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
Yuvraj shared a funny anecdote about Abhishek's obsession with his bat. He explained that Abhishek is very protective of his bats and never gives it to anyone. Yuvraj jokingly said, "You can take anything from Abhishek, but not his bat. Even if he has ten bats, he will say he only has two. If someone takes his bat, he will die, cry, get beaten, but will not give it to anyone."
Abhishek Sharma played a key role in India's victory, scoring the most runs in five matches. India won the series 2-1. During Saturday's match against Australia, the visitors made 52 runs in 4.5 overs without losing a wicket.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav also praised the partnership between Abhishek and Shubman Gill. He said that the two batsmen's start to the innings always brings smiles to the fans. Suryakumar further explained that even on a difficult wicket, Abhishek and Shubman finished the powerplay without taking any risks and then continued their aggressive batting.
"They communicate well and are constantly learning. They have experience in dealing with different match situations in the shorter formats and they are handling it brilliantly.",
