The Indian cricket team is playing a five-match Test series against Australia from November 22. Now a big news is coming out from Indian cricket before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Veteran talented player Wriddhiman Saha has retired from all formats of cricket after a stable season in the Ranji Trophy. This 40-year-old player from Bengal played 40 Tests and 9 ODIs after making his international debut in 2010.
Saha will also not play the Indian Premier League (IPL). Saha was a part of Gujarat Titans (GT) in the last season of IPL. Saha said in a post released on social media, 'This will be my last season after a wonderful journey in cricket.
After a cherished journey in cricket, this season will be my last. I’m honored to represent Bengal one final time, playing only in the Ranji Trophy before I retire. Let’s make this season one to remember! pic.twitter.com/sGElgZuqfP

Wriddhiman Saha first joined the Indian team in 2010 for the Test series against South Africa. As long as MS Dhoni was there, his place in the Test team was not confirmed. After Dhoni retired from Test cricket in 2014, Wriddhiman got regular opportunities in Tests. Wriddhiman Saha last played a match against New Zealand in 2021. Since then he was out of the team. Saha is now 40 years old and he did not even get a chance for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, so he thought it appropriate to retire.
