
The mega auction for the fourth edition of the Women's Premier League is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on November 27, 2025. A total of 277 players will compete for 73 vacant slots in the Tata WPL 2026 auction, for which five franchises will bid. Of these 277 players, 194 are Indians, while 83 are foreigners. So, ahead of the 2026 WPL auction, let's take a look at each team's purse and see which players fall into which base price bracket.
Following India's historic ODI World Cup win, Indian players are expected to attract significant bids in the WPL 2026 auction. Player of the Tournament Deepti Sharma, who was released by UP Warriors immediately after the World Cup final, is considered a strong contender for a high bid this time around. Emerging players Kranti Gaur and Shree Charani could also be in the running for top bids, as both performed exceptionally well during India's title win.
The 2026 WPL Auction will feature several prominent players from the world of women's cricket, including Laura Wolvaardt, Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophie Devine, and Amelia Kerr, who are expected to attract significant bids. Four players from Associate Cricket Nations will also be auctioned: Tirtha Sathish (UAE), Isha Ojha (UAE), Tara Norris (USA), and Thipacha Putthawong (Thailand).
The WPL 2026 Auction will take place on Thursday, November 27, from 3:30 PM.
In the Women's Premier League 2026 auction (WPL Auction 2026), all the franchises have spent a total of Rs 33.9 crore on the retained players. This means that Rs 41.2 crore is still left, with which 5 teams will enter the auction. UP Warriors have the highest purse of Rs 14.5 crore. Gujarat Giants are second with a purse of Rs 9 crore. Defending champions RCB have Rs 6.15 crore in their purse. Mumbai Indians will bid for players with Rs 5.75 crore and Delhi Capitals with Rs 5.7 crore.
