In a World Cup match, Shaheen Shah Afridi broke the previous record for Pakistan's pacers by taking more than one five-wicket haul. At Lord's in 2019, Shaheen had gone 6 for 35 against Bangladesh. Afridi broke the opening wicket partnership when he dismissed Glenn Maxwell in the very next delivery after taking Mitchell Marsh for 129. Additionally, Shaheen Afridi shocked the tail of the dangerous Marcus Stoinis by getting him out for 21.
