Rohit Sharma, one of India's most successful captains, has completed 18 years in international cricket. 38-year-old Rohit Sharma has recently retired from Test cricket, after which Shubman Gill was appointed the new captain. Earlier, by winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title, he also said goodbye to the shortest format of cricket along with Virat Kohli. Rohit now plays only ODI format, in which he also played his first international match, which has completed 18 years today. However, Rohit did not bat in his debut international match.
On completing 18 years, Rohit shared a photo of his helmet on Instagram, which he got in his debut test. With this, he wrote in the caption, I will always be grateful. Along with this, he also shared a blue heart (the color of the Indian team's jersey).

Earlier, on Harbhajan Singh's show, he had said, I will never regret that I did not get this or that, I am what I was before and whatever I have got is from cricket, whatever I have got is enough for me.
Rohit Sharma has said in many interviews that the ODI World Cup is a different thing, its happiness is different and in 2023 we came very close. On Harbhajan Singh's show, he had said, there was a World Cup in India, we were doing well but lost the final. We should have won, now we don't know when the World Cup will be held in India.
After retiring from T20, on May 7 this year, he also announced his retirement from Test cricket, along with which he wrote that he will continue playing ODI cricket. Rohit can play the 2027 World Cup.
Rohit Sharma played 67 Test matches in his Test career, in which he scored 4301 runs at an average of 40.57. He scored 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries in Tests. In ODIs, he scored 11168 runs in 273 matches, including 32 centuries and 58 half-centuries. His highest score in ODIs is 264, which is also the highest individual score in ODI cricket in the world.
Rohit has scored 4231 runs in 159 T20 International matches, which includes 5 centuries and 32 half-centuries. In this format, Rohit has hit 205 sixes and 383 fours.
