Pakistan may pull out of Champions Trophy: India has refused to go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. After this, now a big news has come from Pakistan regarding this. According to the report of DAWN, Pakistan has now threatened to withdraw from the Champions Trophy. Actually, the government of Pakistan has also entered this matter now and the PCB is threatening this at their behest. The Pakistani government wants that if India maintains its decision not to come to Pakistan, then their cricket team should withdraw its name from the tournament.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also a minister in the Pakistani government. The latest reports have claimed that if the ICC tries to change the venue, then the Pakistani government can ask its team to withdraw from this tournament. Earlier the option of playing the tournament in a hybrid model was coming up in which India wanted to play its matches in the UAE.
However, Pakistan has clearly refused to agree to the hybrid model. In such a situation, the ICC seemed to be preparing to change the venue completely. Now Pakistan has made the matter more interesting by threatening to withdraw from the tournament.

After BCCI made it clear that they are not going to Pakistan under any circumstances, ICC is in a lot of trouble. ICC had forwarded the letter sent by BCCI to PCB, after which PCB has been adopting a very aggressive stance. On the other hand, ICC has also kept South Africa in the list of possibilities to conduct the tournament successfully.
Some recent reports are claiming that the entire tournament can be shifted to South Africa. Champions Trophy has not been played since 2017. Now when it came in the ICC calendar, it has got embroiled in different types of controversies. Pakistan became the champion by defeating India in the 2017 final.
