The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have started their IPL 2025 campaign with a bang, securing victories in their first two matches. Their next challenge awaits at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where they will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 2.
RCB recently broke a 17-year-long streak by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai for the first time since 2008. Though Virat Kohli struggled a bit in that match, Phil Salt kept the momentum going in the powerplay. Rajat Patidar capitalized on a lucky break to score a crucial half-century on a tough pitch. Later, Tim David’s late blitz propelled RCB to a strong total of 196 runs.
In response, CSK had a disastrous start as Josh Hazlewood struck twice in one over. Despite efforts from the middle order, CSK failed to recover and managed only 146/8. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone kept the pressure on with disciplined bowling in the middle overs, ensuring RCB's dominant win.
Gujarat Titans also come into this match on the back of a solid win against Mumbai Indians (MI). Batting first, GT posted a competitive total of 196 runs, powered by a fantastic half-century from Sai Sudharsan and strong contributions from Jos Buttler and Shubman Gill.
With both teams in great form and exciting individual records on the line, this clash promises to be a thrilling encounter. Will RCB continue their winning streak at home, or will GT halt their momentum? Stay tuned for what promises to be a high-octane battle!
