Delhi Capitals have left out Prithvi Shaw from their playing eleven for the 43rd group-stage match of IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians on home soil. At the time of the toss, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant revealed that he had made a change by bringing in Kumar Kushagra in place of Shaw.
During the toss, DC captain Pant informed about Shaw's absence from the high-voltage match against Mumbai Indians. Shaw has scored 185 runs including one half-century at a modest average of 26.43. More importantly, the dynamic right-handed batsman has not performed anything of substance since his last IPL half-century, which he incidentally scored against MI in the competition.
After being out on a single-digit score against Gujarat Titans, Shaw could only score 27 runs in his subsequent two matches. Kumar Kushagra, on the other hand, is a promising talent who was bought for a huge price of Rs 7.2 crore in the IPL 2024 mini auction last year. So, considering his potential, the Capitals hope that Kushagra will make an immediate impact and cement his place in the star-studded team.
