Pakistan cricket has once again landed in controversy, and this time the issue has nothing to do with on-field performance. After a disappointing campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, reports have emerged that a Pakistani player allegedly misbehaved with a female hotel employee in Sri Lanka.
The incident has triggered fresh criticism and raised serious questions about discipline within the team.
PAK vs SL- Drama in Kandy: Alleged Incident Inside Team Hotel
According to reports, the alleged incident took place at the Golden Crown Hotel in Kandy, Sri Lanka, where the Pakistan team was staying during the tournament.
Sources claim the episode happened just before Pakistan’s Super-8 match against Sri Lanka. A player allegedly misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member, leaving the employee distressed.
The woman reportedly raised an alarm and called for help, after which other hotel staff rushed in and intervened to control the situation.
Pakistan Team Management Steps In to Contain the Situation
After the complaint, hotel authorities reportedly informed Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema about the situation. The hotel management initially wanted strict action against the cricketer involved.
However, the team manager is said to have apologized on behalf of the player and tried to resolve the matter internally. Reports suggest that the player was slapped with a heavy fine for the inappropriate behavior.
For now, the issue appears to have been handled quietly within the team.

Who Is the Pakistani Player Accused of Harassing a Female Hotel Employee in Sri Lanka?
The biggest mystery surrounding the controversy is the identity of the player involved. So far, no official report has revealed the name of the cricketer accused in the incident.
It is widely believed that the team management and officials have kept the player’s identity confidential to prevent further damage to Pakistan cricket’s image.
However, the issue may not completely fade away, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) could still review the matter through its disciplinary committee.

Not the First Time Pakistan Cricket Has Faced Such Trouble
Pakistan cricket has witnessed similar controversies in the past as well. Last year, Pakistani batter Haider Ali was arrested by Manchester police during Pakistan Shaheens tour of England over serious allegations, although he was later released due to lack of evidence.
In another case, team masseur Malang Ali was fined during a foreign tour after being accused of misbehaving with a female employee.
Fresh Headache for PCB Amid Growing Criticism
This latest controversy has once again put the spotlight on discipline and player behavior within the Pakistan team.
If the allegations are proven true, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may be forced to take strict disciplinary action. Until then, the cricket world continues to ask the same question -
Will the identity of the player be revealed, or will the controversy quietly fade away?
