20-year-old Harjas Singh scored this triple century for Western Suburbs against Sydney in the second round match on Saturday. He came in to bat at number three and before that shared a 70-run partnership with Nicholas Cutler and Joshua Clarke. Harjas Singh batted cautiously initially, but once he got into the rhythm, he rained sixes and fours. Harjas Singh reached his half-century in 33 balls. After reaching fifty, he slowed down for a while, reaching his century in 74 balls. But after that, a different side of him was seen on the field, as he began to thrash every bowler.
Harjas Singh smashed 35 sixes and 12 fours in his 314-run innings, scoring 210 runs from sixes and 48 from fours. That means he scored 258 runs from boundaries alone. He reached his first century in 74 balls and his second in just 29 balls. Harjas completed his triple century in 132 balls before being dismissed for 314 in the last over. Harjas' explosive innings helped Western Suburbs post a mammoth total of 483.

Born in Sydney, Harjas Singh is of Indian descent. His parents moved to Sydney from Chandigarh in 2000. His passion for cricket was evident from childhood. Harjas also performed brilliantly in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. In the final against India, he scored 55 runs off 64 balls, which was Australia's highest score in that match. His innings helped Australia post a respectable total of 253 runs. Australia also won the 2024 Under-19 World Cup.
