The 23rd match of IPL 2024 is being played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh. Batting first against Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad has given a target of 183 runs to Punjab Kings to win. Nitish Reddy (64) scored the most runs for Hyderabad. Born on 26 May 2003, Reddy made his IPL debut in the 2023 season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Reddy made his fifth IPL appearance in match number 23 of IPL 2024 between SRH and PBKS. All-rounder Reddy took a five-wicket haul in his second first-class match against Mumbai during the Ranji Trophy. Reddy has batted as an opening batsman for Andhra. He opened the innings for India Green in the Under-19 Challenger Trophy in the 2018–19 season. Reddy was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad at his base price of Rs 20 lakh in the auction ahead of the 2023 season. Reddy gifted a car to his family after his first season in the IPL. Batting icon Virat Kohli is Reddy's idol. The 20-year-old player scored a brilliant half-century in his List-A debut match.
Nitish Reddy is 20 years old and is a resident of Andhra Pradesh. Nitish Kumar Reddy was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20 lakh in the IPL 2023 auction. He plays as a finisher and can also bowl medium pace. The match against PBKS was his second match in the IPL and he scored 64 runs (4sx4, 6sx5) in 37 balls. This is also his highest score so far in the IPL after remaining unbeaten on 14 runs against Chennai Super Kings.

Nitish Reddy also received the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance in this match. In this match, while Nitish played an innings of 64 runs with the bat, he also took one wicket in bowling and he managed to take a catch in fielding also. With this, Nitish has also become the youngest player to achieve these three feats simultaneously in any IPL match. Nitish gave 33 runs in 3 overs in bowling and also got the wicket of Jitesh Sharma at the crucial time. After winning this match, Hyderabad team has directly reached fifth place in the points table with 6 points.
Nitish Reddy said after the match: After the brilliant performance against Punjab Kings, Nitish Reddy said that from my point of view this is a big performance for my team and me too. I was constantly talking to myself to believe in myself. Their fast bowlers bowled very well and that is why I did not adopt a very aggressive approach against them. I knew that the spin bowlers would come and I could play big shots against them. Till now, the bowlers of Punjab Kings team have been continuously using slow bouncer bowlers more in this tournament, which has also benefited them. Looking at the wicket, I also tried to bowl in a similar manner. I will continue to strive to perform like this with bat and ball.
