West Indies have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup 2026: West Indies have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka next month. Explosive all-rounder Jason Holder returns to the 15-member squad. Two-time champions West Indies will be aiming for their third title in the tournament, which will be played from February 7 to March 8.

Besides Holder, former captain and hard-hitting batsman Rovman Powell has also been recalled to the team. Romario Shepherd has also been included, significantly strengthening the team's batting lineup. Shai Hope will captain the side.

Quinton Sampson included in the squad:

The selectors have also included 25-year-old explosive batsman Quinton Sampson in the squad. The Guyanese player recently made his T20 debut against Afghanistan. He scored only 35 runs in three innings, but the selectors have still shown faith in him. This is due to his performance in the Caribbean Premier League.

The batsman scored 241 runs in nine innings for the Guyana Amazon Warriors at a strike rate of 151.57 and was the third-highest run-scorer for his team this season. It was this form that earned him a place in the team against Afghanistan.

Akeal Hosein, Roston Chase, and Sherfane Rutherford, who were unavailable for the series against Afghanistan due to their participation in the SA20 series, have returned to the squad.

The following bowler has also returned:

Shamar Joseph, who has been in and out of the team due to injuries in 2025, has also been included. He was part of the squad for the Afghanistan series and had played competitive cricket before that in September. He was recovering from a shoulder injury. Besides him, the fast-bowling attack will comprise Matthew Forde, Jayden Seales, and Holder. The spin department will be handled by Akeal Hosein, Chase, and Gudakesh Motie. Left-handed batsman Evin Lewis and fast bowler Alzarri Joseph have not been included in the squad.

West Indies are placed in Group C along with England, Nepal, Italy, and Scotland. Initially, Bangladesh was in this group instead of Scotland, but the ICC replaced them. West Indies will play their first match against Scotland on February 7 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
