India vs Pakistan WCL match cancelled: The World Championship of Legends (WCL) match between India and Pakistan scheduled for Sunday has finally been cancelled after a lot of protests. Select countries are participating in the WCL tournament in which the legendary players of these countries who have retired from international cricket are playing. There was a lot of anger on social media regarding organizing this match amid the tension between India and Pakistan for the last few months, after which many Indian players also decided to withdraw from this match.
The WCL organisers announced the cancellation of the match between India and Pakistan and also gave an explanation as to why they had organised a cricket match between these two countries. This WCL match between the Yuvraj Singh-led Indian team and Pakistan was to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The match was to start at 9 pm Indian time, but it was decided to cancel it at the last moment. Actually, after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India had taken military action on terrorist hideouts under Operation Sindoor, after which tension between India and Pakistan had increased.
While fans were expressing their anger on social media regarding this match, players like Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh had decided not to play in this match even before the match was cancelled. Dhawan had written on Instagram, 'I still stand by the step I took on May 11. My country is everything to me and nothing is greater than the country. Jai Hind.

Apart from this, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina had also decided to withdraw from this match. This was the first match of the Yuvraj Singh-led team in this tournament. The Indian team included batsmen like Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu.
After the Pahalgam attack, tensions between India and Pakistan had increased. Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh had withdrawn from this tournament. However, a lot of anger was being expressed on social media regarding the India-Pakistan match. Finally, the organizers decided to cancel it. This was the first match of the Yuvraj Singh-led team in this tournament. The Indian team includes batsmen like Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu.
