During the match, Haris Rauf faced chants of "Virat Kohli... Virat Kohli" from the Indian crowd while fielding on the boundary. The fans were reminding him of the T20 World Cup 2022, when Kohli had turned the match around by hitting two consecutive sixes in Rauf's over. Meanwhile, Rauf made provocative gestures, further heating up the atmosphere.

'6-0' chants were heard even during the practice session.

The controversy began a day before the match. During the Pakistan team's training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai, players were seen shouting "6-0, 6-0." While it was initially thought to be a joke about the score, the gesture during the match has now raised questions. Indians are also making memes about his actions. One fan wrote, "How many wars has Pakistan won against India?" The fan posted a picture of Harris scoring zero.
