Pakistan entered the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup 2025 after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 41 runs in their Group A match. Pakistan struggled with the bat early on but bounced back with the ball to secure a comfortable win.
Pakistan’s Batting Struggle
Pakistan had a very poor start after they were asked to bat first. Both openers got out quickly – Saim Ayub scored 0 and Sahibzada Farhan made only 5 runs. At 9/2, Pakistan were under pressure.
Fakhar Zaman and Salman Ali Agha then tried to bring stability. They added 61 runs for the third wicket. Fakhar played well and scored 50 off 36 balls, while Agha made 20 from 27 balls but looked uneasy. After this stand, Pakistan kept losing wickets. Simranjeet Singh bowled impressively for UAE, picking up Fakhar, Hassan Nawaz, and Khushdil Shah in quick time.
