PAK vs AFG Tri-Series Final Highlights: Just before the Asia Cup 2025, the Pakistan cricket team performed brilliantly and defeated Afghanistan by 75 runs in the final of the triangular series played in Sharjah. The biggest hero of this victory was all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, who destroyed the Afghan team with his excellent bowling.

Mohammad Nawaz's hat-trick and five-wicket feat

Pakistan batted first and scored 141/8 in 20 overs. Afghanistan's team was all out for just 66 runs while chasing this target. Nawaz took five wickets for 19 runs in a total of 3.5 overs, which included a brilliant hat-trick. Nawaz was selected Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his brilliant bowling.

He first dismissed Darwish Rasooli and Azmatullah Omarzai on consecutive balls without opening their account and then sent Ibrahim Zadran (9) to the pavilion on the very first ball of his next over. With this, Nawaz became the third bowler from Pakistan to take a hat-trick in T20 International. Before him, Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Hasnain have done this feat.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the start was bad and Sahibzada Farhan was out on the third ball without opening the account. After this, Fakhar Zaman (27) and Sam Ayub (17) added 49 runs for the second wicket. Captain Salman Agha (24 runs, 27 balls) played a fighting innings, while Nawaz also contributed with the bat, scoring 25 runs in 21 balls, which included two brilliant sixes. Afghan captain Rashid Khan performed brilliantly in bowling and took 3 wickets in four overs. He sent Zaman, Hasan Nawaz (15) and Agha to the pavilion.

Chasing the target of 142 runs, Afghanistan's team faltered from the beginning. No batsman could stand in front of Nawaz and Pakistani bowlers. Rashid Khan (17 runs) and Sadiqullah Atal (13 runs) were the only two batsmen who could cross the double-digit mark. Afghanistan were bowled out for 66 in 15.5 overs, their second-lowest total in T20I history, coming only behind 56 against South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup semi-final.
