New video reveals Sanju Samson catch was correct: India played their first match of the Asia Cup Super Four against Pakistan on Sunday, September 21, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India won the match by six wickets.
During the match, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya dismissed Pakistani opener Fakhar Zaman with an off-cutter in the powerplay. Zaman misread the ball, which took the outside edge of his bat and landed in the gloves of wicketkeeper Sanju Samson.
However, the catch taken by Sanju Samson has drawn considerable criticism. Pakistani players were unhappy with the decision, and several former Pakistani players also raised the issue and voiced their opinions.
The incident occurred on the third ball of the third over. However, new evidence suggests that Sanju Samson took a clean catch and the umpires' decision was correct.
Samson stepped forward to complete the catch, but the ball was moving downwards at a very high speed, forcing him to take a low catch.

Pakistan captain Salman said, "I don't know about the decision. It's obviously the umpire's job. Umpires can make mistakes. And I have no problem with that. But it looks like the ball bounced before reaching the keeper."
He further said, "But I might be wrong. I don't know. You could say that the way he (Fakhar Zaman) was batting, if he had batted the entire powerplay, we might have scored 190 runs. But yes, it's the umpire's decision. And they can make mistakes."
