IND vs WI 2nd Test Day 2 Highlights: The second day of the second Test between India and the West Indies has concluded. India declared their first innings at 518 for five. At stumps, the West Indies were 140 for four, trailing India by 378 runs. At stumps, Shai Hope was at 31 and Tevin Imlach was at 14. Ravindra Jadeja bowled brilliantly for India, taking three wickets so far, while Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket.
After declaring, India dominated the bowling, dealing West Indies an early blow. John Campbell was dismissed for 10. Tejnarayan Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze then added 66 runs for the second wicket to steady the team, but Jadeja dismissed Chanderpaul for 34. Kuldeep then struck Athanaze to give West Indies their third wicket. Athanaze was dismissed for 41. Jadeja then dismissed captain Roston Chase without scoring. However, West Indies suffered no further setbacks at the end of the day's play. India will now be looking to wrap up the West Indies innings quickly on the third day and gain a significant lead.

India's first innings: Shubman and Yashasvi score centuries

The first day of the match belonged entirely to the Indian team. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul gave the Indian team a solid start, sharing a 58-run partnership for the first wicket. Rahul eventually departed after scoring 38. This was followed by a 193-run partnership for the second wicket between Yashasvi and Sai Sudarshan. Yashasvi reached his century in 145 balls, his seventh in Test cricket. Sudarshan also scored his second Test fifty. Sudarshan faced 165 balls and scored 87 runs with the help of 12 fours. After Sudarshan's dismissal, captain Shubman Gill and Yashasvi ensured the Indian team didn't suffer any further losses on the first day.
On the second day, there were hopes that Yashasvi Jaiswal would complete his double century, but he was unfortunately run out. Yashasvi scored 175 runs off 258 balls, with the help of 22 fours. After Yashasvi's dismissal, Shubman Gill and Nitish Kumar Reddy scored quickly. They shared a 91-run partnership for the fourth wicket. During this partnership, Shubman reached his fifty off 95 balls. Nitish was dismissed for 43. Nitish hit four fours and two sixes in his 54-ball innings.
After Nitish Kumar Reddy's dismissal, Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel shared a 102-run partnership for the fifth wicket. During this, Shubman completed his 10th Test century. Shubman scored an unbeaten 129 off 196 balls, including 16 fours and two sixes. Dhruv Jurel contributed 44 runs. Captain Shubman decided to declare the innings after Jurel was dismissed.
West Indies First Innings

The West Indies had a poor start in their first innings. John Campell was dismissed for just 10 runs, caught by Ravindra Jadeja off Sai Sudarshan. Tejnarayan Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze then tried to revive the innings. They shared a 66-run partnership for the second wicket. Jadeja broke the partnership by dismissing Chanderpaul (34). Athanase also fell to Kuldeep Yadav shortly after for 41. Captain Roston Chase failed to make much of a comeback and was dismissed by Jadeja.
