Duleep Trophy 2025 Final: Dominating for most stages of the final in Bengaluru, Central Zone defeated South Zone by 6 wickets to lift the Duleep Trophy 2025 title. After falling behind by a huge margin in the first innings, South Zone put up a strong fight in the second innings but Central Zone's all-round performance helped them win the Duleep Trophy for the sixth time.
Central Zone took an early lead by bowling out South Zone for just 149 in the first innings thanks to spinners Kumar Karthikeya (4/110 in second innings, crucial wickets in first innings) and Saransh Jain (5/49 in first innings). Central's batting was also good, with Yash Rathore scoring a brilliant 194 to take the team to a 362-run first innings lead.
After trailing by 363 runs, South Zone showed solidity in their second innings and recovered from the early setbacks to finish at 426. The partnership between Ankit Sharma (99) and Andre Siddharth (84*) for the seventh wicket was memorable, which frustrated the Central Zone bowlers and delayed their defeat for some time.
Central Zone were given a modest target of 65 runs on the final day. Despite losing a few early wickets, they made rapid progress towards the target, with Akshay Wadkar leading the team to victory by the end of the first session and winning the 2025 title.

For Rajat Patidar, after winning the IPL trophy for RCB, this was another big achievement in his cricket career. Rajat Patidar said after the victory, "Every captain loves the trophy. I have many players who have performed brilliantly not only in the final but also in the last two matches. The pitch was perfect for batting, our bowlers dominated."
“The wicket was a bit dry, so we decided to bowl first. Our aim was to bowl them out as early as possible in the first innings. The spinners got more help. I really liked the timing of the balls of Yash and Danish, I am very happy for them. They (spinners) have played many matches together, they have the skill, they are very difficult to play on these pitches.”
Saransh Jain was named Player of the Series for his incredible performance with both bat and ball. And Yash Rathore was awarded the Man of the Match award for his incredible 194 in the final.
