For Australia, Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh shared a 250-run partnership for the opening wicket. This is the fifth highest partnership for the first wicket for Australia in ODIs. Travis Head scored 142 runs in 103 balls and Marsh scored 100 runs in 106 balls. Apart from these two, Cameron Green, who came to bat at number three, scored an unbeaten 118 runs in 55 balls.

During this, Green completed his first ODI century in 47 balls. This is the second fastest ODI century for Australia. Both of them shared a 57-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Tony de Zorzi was out in the 14th over after scoring 33 runs off 30 balls, after which South Africa's team collapsed like a pack of cards. Wiaan Mulder could score only 5 runs and Keshav Maharaj could score only two runs.
