The Uttar Pradesh team will start their Ranji Trophy campaign against Bengal from October 11 at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium.
The 22-member squad selected for this season has a mix of experienced and young players, including six standby players. Although Rinku Singh will not be able to play in the first few matches due to his commitments with the Indian national team, key players like Nitish Rana and Yash Dayal will be part of the team in the first two matches.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has now shifted his focus to white-ball cricket only, will not be a part of the team this season. This is a new turn in his career. At the same time, Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel will represent the Indian team in the Test series against New Zealand later this month, due to which they have been left out of the team.

The Uttar Pradesh team has a great combination of spin and pace, which will give a tough challenge to the opposing teams. Veteran spinner Saurabh Kumar, who has 312 first class wickets, will lead the spin department. He will be accompanied by leg-break bowler Vipraj Nigam, who took 20 wickets in 11 matches in the UP T20 League. Apart from this, Shivam Sharma, who is a left-arm slow bowler, and was the highest wicket-taker in the 2021-22 Vijay Hazare Trophy, will also be a part of the team.
Key players like Priyam Garg and Nitish Rana will play an important role in batting. Nitish Rana had switched his domestic allegiance to the Uttar Pradesh team from last season and his performances in the domestic circuit have been excellent.
