Piyush wrote, 'I am deeply grateful to my coaches - Mr. K.K. Gautam and late Mr. Pankaj Saraswat - who developed and shaped me as a cricketer. My family has been my strength and a pillar in this journey. The unwavering support of the family has been my foundation during all the ups and downs. I would like to make a special mention of my late father. He had unwavering faith in me and paved the way for me. Without him this journey would never have been possible. I also thank the BCCI, UPCA (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association) and GCA (Gujarat Cricket Association) who provided me with the platform and opportunities to develop and express myself as a cricketer. Today is a very emotional day for me, as I officially announce my retirement from all formats of international and domestic cricket. Even though I move away from the crease, cricket will always remain alive within me. Now I am looking forward to starting a new journey, carrying with me the spirit and lessons of this beautiful game.'
