The most special moment of 2024 for Indian fans was undoubtedly winning the T20 World Cup, but this year many well-known faces of Indian cricket also bid farewell to the game. Some players retired completely from international cricket, while some distanced themselves from certain formats. Let's take a look at those star Indian players who bid farewell to their cricket career this year
The legendary Indian spinner surprised everyone by announcing the end of his international career. After India's third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 in Brisbane, Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. Since making his debut in 2010, Ashwin has represented India in 106 Tests, 116 ODIs and 65 T20Is, taking 537, 156 and 72 wickets respectively. Making valuable contributions with the bat, he scored 3503 Test runs, including six centuries and 14 half-centuries
Shikhar Dhawan will retire on August 24, 2024, taking a break from a career that began in 2010. Dhawan was known for his aggressive opening style, scoring 24 centuries in international cricket. His performances in the Champions Trophy, Asia Cup and the 2015 World Cup were particularly memorable, making him a key player in India's white-ball success.
After IPL 2024, Dinesh Karthik announced his retirement from international cricket, domestic cricket and IPL. He made his international debut in September 2004, and his last appearance for India came during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. In his career from 2004 to 2022, Karthik played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 60 T20Is, scoring 3,463 runs including one century and 17 half-centuries.

He revealed that he will retire from both international and domestic cricket after the conclusion of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. Saha represented India in 40 Tests and nine ODIs between 2010 and 2021, scoring 1,353 runs including three centuries.
Jadhav made his One Day International (ODI) debut for India against Sri Lanka on 16 November 2014 and his T20I debut against Zimbabwe on 17 July 2015. An aggressive middle-order batsman and a fine off-spinner, Jadhav represented Maharashtra in 87 first-class games, scoring 6100 runs with 17 centuries and 23 half-centuries. For India, Kedar Jadhav scored 1389 runs at an average of 42.09, including two centuries and six half-centuries.
