Since November 2021, Rahul Dravid has served as Team India's head coach, and throughout these two and a half years, the squad has had some incredible success. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) extended his contract with the squad till the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the West Indies, following the fantastic 2023 World Cup campaign.
Before joining Team India, Dravid served as head coach of the India U-19 and India A teams. Under his leadership, the team won the 2018 U-19 World Cup, which was hosted in New Zealand.
With his coaching abilities, Dravid brought some exceptional potential to the Indian team during his time with the U-19 squad and India A. Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper for the Mumbai Indians and India, captained the U-19 team during the 2016 U-19 World Cup. He didn't have much of an influence as a hitter throughout the tournament, but as captain, he was successful in leading India to the championship.The left-handed hitter made his Indian debut prior to Rahul Dravid taking on the role of coach. Kishan became the fourth batter from India to reach a double century in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in December 2022. This accomplishment was made in the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury (ZAC) Stadium against Bangladesh. After Kishan's historic century, Dravid was spotted rejoicing in the locker room.

Shubman Gill was crucial to India's fourth U-19 World Cup championship victory with his bat. In five innings over the course of six matches, he amassed 372 runs at an incredible strike rate of 112.38, making him the tournament's second-highest run scorer. At the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Gill made his debut in an international match during the 2020–21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against Australia. The youthful batter crushed a double ton against New Zealand in a One-Day International (ODI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in January 2023, following Dravid's appointment as coach.

Because of his flamboyant batting displays during the 2016 U-19 World Cup, Rishabh Pant attracted a lot of attention. During the competition, he participated in six games and amassed 267 runs, including two fifty and a hundred. He was his team's second-most successful batter in the competition with these stats.He became well-known in the cricket community after his outstanding performance. He made his debut for his country in February 2017, and two years later, he traveled to England to take Shikhar Dhawan's position in the India side for the 2019 World Cup due to injury.
