In ODI cricket, batsmen often get a chance to settle down. When they settle down, it becomes very difficult for the bowler to get any player out. But bowlers also have a chance to show their skills. Sometimes the situation becomes so difficult that it becomes very difficult for the bowlers to stop the batsmen. Because of this, the spells of some bowlers prove to be expensive and a record of giving runs is made. Here we are telling about some such expensive spells of Indian ODI cricket
# | Bowler | Over | Runs | Year |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Bhuvneshwar Kumar | 10 | 106 | 2015 |
2 | Vinay Kumar | 10 | 102 | 2013 |
3 | Bhuvneshwar Kumar | 10 | 92 | 2017 |
4 | Yuzvendra chahal | 10 | 89 | 2020 |
5 | Zaheer khan | 10 | 88 | 2009 |
Zaheer Khan conceded 88 runs in the ODI against Sri Lanka in Rajkot in 2009. The match was high scoring and both teams scored over 400 runs. However, Zaheer bowled some excellent yorkers towards the end of the match which helped India win.
In 2020, Yuzvendra Chahal, who was in great form against Australia, took one wicket for 89 runs in a spell of 10 overs. Australia won this match by 66 runs in the final.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave away 92 runs in the ODI match played against New Zealand in Kanpur in 2017. Bhuvneshwar bowled well with the new ball, but he proved to be very expensive in the death overs. However, India won this thrilling match.
Vinay Kumar gave away 102 runs in an ODI match against Australia in 2013. He did not even bowl his full 10 overs, yet he gave away so many runs. Despite this, India won both the match and the series, but Vinay's performance was disappointing.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a spell against South Africa in 2015 that he would probably never want to remember. He conceded 106 runs in his 10 overs, which is one of the most expensive spells bowled by an Indian bowler in ODIs. India lost the match and also the series 3-2.
