Virat Kohli and KL Rahul hold the record for the highest partnership in Asia Cup history. Rahul and Kohli added an unbeaten 233 runs for the third wicket against Pakistan in 2023. In a crucial Super 4 match of the Asia Cup, against arch-rivals Pakistan, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul not only won the match; but their brilliant, unbeaten 233-run partnership sealed the victory.

2. Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed - 224 runs (2012)

In 2012, Pakistan openers Mohammad Hafeez (105) and Nasir Jamshed (112) added 224 for the first wicket against India in Mirpur. Both batsmen hit centuries as the team scored 329/6. However, their efforts went in vain as India won by six wickets thanks to Virat Kohli's 183.

3. Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan - 223 runs (2004)

Shoaib Malik (118) and Younis Khan (144) added 223 for the third wicket against a weak Hong Kong in the 2004 tournament in Colombo. Their centuries helped the Men in Green post 343/5. In reply, Hong Kong were bundled out for 165 and lost by 173 runs (D/L method).

India's iconic opening pair Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma blew away the Pakistani bowlers in the 2018 Asia Cup match in Dubai. Chasing a target of 238 to win, India got off to a great start with the openers tearing apart the Pakistani bowling attack. They added 210 runs for the first wicket. Dhawan scored 114 while skipper Rohit remained unbeaten at 111 as India won by nine wickets.
