India won the ODI World Cup final

In the year 2011, ICC ODI World Cup was played jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. India made it to the knockout stage by finishing second in Group A and Sri Lanka in Group B. Team India reached the final by defeating Australia in the quarter-finals and Pakistan in the semi-finals. Sri Lanka defeated England in the quarter-finals and New Zealand in the semi-finals.

The final was played between India and Sri Lanka on 2 April at the Wankhede ground in Mumbai. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 274 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, India achieved the target by losing 4 wickets in 48.4 overs. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who played a not out inning of 91 runs, was the player of the match. One final played twice in Champions Trophy, still no result

In the year 2002, India and Sri Lanka reached the final of the Champions Trophy together. The match was played on the grounds of Colombo on 29 September. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 244 runs in 50 overs. In reply, India scored 14 runs without loss in 2 overs, but the match remained inconclusive due to rain.

The tri-series final took place in Dambulla in August 2010. Sri Lanka won the match by 74 runs.

In 2013, the final of the Tri-Series was held in Port of Spain, West Indies. India won the close match by one wicket.
