Why India's Test record is poor in Jasprit Bumrah's presence

Fewer Test matches: India have played relatively fewer Test matches in Bumrah's absence (27 vs 47). It is possible to get good results in this small sample size, especially when the matches are played in home conditions.

Opposing teams and conditions: In Bumrah's absence, India may have played matches against teams or conditions where spin bowlers have dominated, or where the Indian batting line-up has performed well.

Emergence of other bowlers: In Bumrah's absence, other fast bowlers have often got a chance, and they have handled the responsibility well. Bowlers like Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma have together played an important role in making the team win.

Home vs overseas performance: It is also to be seen how India's performance has been at home and away in Bumrah's presence and absence. Bumrah has led India to many historic victories on foreign pitches, where his speed and swing have wreaked havoc.
