T20 WC 2024: The T20 World Cup is to be played jointly hosted by America and West Indies from next month. The eyes of the whole world are on this World Cup. This will be the eighth edition of the T20 World Cup. This tournament started from 2007. This will be the second time that the World Cup will be played in the West Indies. Earlier this country had hosted this World Cup in 2010.
This time America is the joint host with West Indies and for the first time America has got the hosting of a major cricket tournament. Cricket is a game where controversies keep happening. In 2022, there was a fierce dispute in the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in which Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh clashed with the umpire. In the 11th over of Bangladesh's innings, the ball hit Shakib's pad. Pakistan team appealed.
The umpire gave out, but Shakib took review. It was clearly visible in the review that the ball first hit Shakib's bat and then the pad. But the third umpire gave him out. Meanwhile, Shakib started arguing with the umpire and walked out in anger.

In the year 2021, the T20 World Cup was played jointly hosted by Oman and UAE. In this World Cup, South Africa's wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock had withdrawn his name from the match to be played against West Indies. De Kock had taken this decision for personal reasons, but later it was revealed that De Kock was against the decision of getting down on one knee to express his protest against the discrimination against black people across the world in the match against West Indies. The matter was later resolved and De Kock later said that he was willing to do so.

Andrew Symonds was a legendary player of the white ball format. He was known for his devastating hitting. However, his brilliant career was marred by several off-field problems. One such example is the 2009 T20 World Cup. Australia had also entered this World Cup as a contender but Cricket Australia had taken a big decision in this tournament. The board had called veteran all-rounder Andrew Symonds back home from the beach tournament. As soon as this news came out, there was panic. Cricket Australia had reported that Symonds broke team rules several times in the last 24 hours, which also included rules regarding drinking alcohol.

The semi-final match was played between Pakistan and Australia in the 2021 T20 World Cup. In this match, a shot by Australian opener David Warner had created controversy. Pakistan's off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez was bowling. While bowling, the ball left his hand. The ball took two hits and then Warner hit a six on it. The umpire declared it a no ball. The Pakistani team was surprised to see all this. Many people had questioned Warner's sportsmanship and said that he should not have hit the ball in such a situation.

In the year 2007, there was a match between India and England. The Indian team was batting in this match. Yuvraj Singh was batting with team captain MS Dhoni. Then Andrew Flintoff said something to Yuvraj Singh. There was a heated argument between the two. This dispute happened between overs. Yuvraj looked very angry. He said something to Flintoff and came out on strike to bat. Yuvraj took out all the anger of Flintoff on fast bowler Stuart Broad and hit six sixes in six balls in the over.
