Sunrisers Hyderabad is looking for its second title. Last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad played the final under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. The team won its first IPL title in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner. The highest amount of Rs 23 crore has been spent on Heinrich Klaasen for the year 2025. Sunrisers Hyderabad retained five players for IPL 2025. Hyderabad retained Heinrich Klaasen for 23 crores, Pat Cummins for 18 crores, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head for 14 crores each. At the same time, all-rounder Nitish Reddy was retained for 6 crores.
Sunrisers Hyderabad started in 2012. Before the IPL 2012 season, Deccan Chargers were dissolved by the BCCI. After this, Sun TV Network created a new team for Hyderabad, named "Sunrisers Hyderabad". Sunrisers Hyderabad started their IPL journey in the year 2013.
In the first season, the team had many great players. It included big names like Kumar Sangakkara, Shikhar Dhawan and Dale Steyn. Although the team was not very successful in the first year of the tournament, it had a strong start. Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to win its first IPL title in 2016. Thanks to the excellent captaincy and batting of captain David Warner, the team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.
