Sri Lanka tour of Zimbabwe: Sri Lanka has announced its team for the Zimbabwe tour. A 16-member team has been selected for the 2-match ODI series.

The Asia Cup is going to start from 9th September. Before this tournament, the Sri Lanka cricket team will tour Zimbabwe. This tour will start with the ODI series, in which 2 matches will be played. In such a situation, Sri Lanka has announced its team for the ODI series. Sri Lanka has announced a 16-member team. Charith Aslanka has been given the command of the team. Sri Lanka has not included young player Ishan Malinga, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, in the team.

Wanindu Hasaranga is still out of the team due to injury. Hasaranga suffered a hamstring injury during the T20 series against Bangladesh in July. After getting injured, the star all-rounder was ruled out of the three-match series against Bangladesh and now he has not been selected in the team for the Zimbabwe tour as well. Meanwhile, 25-year-old top-order batsman Nuwanidu Fernando has returned to the team, who last played an ODI for Sri Lanka against New Zealand in 2024.

The Sri Lankan team will leave for Harare on August 22 for the Zimbabwe tour, where both ODI matches will be played. The first ODI match will be played on August 29 while the second match will be played on August 31. After the ODI series, a 3-match T20 series will be played. The T20 series will start from September 3 in Harare. The second match will be played on September 6 while the third and last match will be played on September 7. All the matches of this series will also be played in Harare. After finishing the Zimbabwe tour, the Sri Lankan team will start its campaign in Asia Cup 2025 against Bangladesh on September 13.
