Kusal Perera has not played an ODI match for almost a year, but he recently played a good half-century innings during the T20 series against the West Indies. Due to this, he has now got a chance in the ODI team for the series against New Zealand. On the other hand, Shiraz has got a chance in only one ODI match so far, which was also his debut match.
Sri Lanka is performing strongly at home and the team defeated West Indies 2-1 in their last T20 series. Due to this, no change has been made in the squad for the T20 series against New Zealand. All-rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe has also retained his place. Dinesh Chandimal, who has not played a match for Sri Lanka in T20 for a long time, has also not been dropped.
Let us tell you that the T20 series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand will start from November 9 and the second match will be played on November 10. At the same time, the ODI series will start from November 13. Both T20s and the first ODI will be held in Dambulla, while the ODIs to be played on November 17 and 19 will be held in Pallekele.
