Sri Lanka's Zimbabwe tour 2025 is set to begin later this month with two One Day Internationals (ODIs). The matches will be played on August 29 and 31 at the Harare Sports Club.
Zimbabwe will enter this series with a big boost for their team, which is the return of veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Brendan Taylor. At his peak, Taylor was one of the best batsmen in the world. He was away from the game after the ban, but recently he made a comeback in the Test series against New Zealand and is now making a comeback in the ODI team as well.
Craig Ervine will lead the Zimbabwe team, which also includes senior players like Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will field a competitive team as they look to maintain consistency and regain their team form ahead of the major ICC tournament.
Both teams have announced their squads for the upcoming series. Zimbabwe's key player Brendan Taylor will be a key player in their team. Their team announced for the series has a mix of young and experienced players. Taylor adds strength to the batting order, which has many talented players who are capable of winning matches for their team.
On the other hand, Charith Asalanka will lead Sri Lanka, which has a strong batting order. Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis are all capable of playing match-winning innings. This will be a good test for them before the upcoming Asia Cup.
