Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka T20 series 2025: Sri Lanka's team has to play a three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe from September 3. They have announced a 17-member team for this series.

Sri Lanka Announces Squad for T20 Series Against Zimbabwe

The Sri Lankan team is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe. The two-match ODI series between the two teams is starting from August 29. After this, a three-match T20 series will also be played from September 3. Sri Lanka has announced its team for this T20 series and has included a total of 17 players. Vanindu Hasaranga has not got a place in this team. He is out of the series due to injury.

Charith Aslanka will captain Sri Lanka in the T20 series against Zimbabwe. Under his captaincy, the Sri Lankan team will also play in the Asia Cup starting on September 9. But he has not yet announced the team for that tournament. However, it is expected that the team for the Asia Cup will be selected from this 17-member team. Fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana has also returned to the T20 team. He was ignored for the two-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. Most of the players in the T20 International team have a lot of experience of playing. This team includes players like Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Kamindu Mendis and Dasun Shanaka. All of them have performed very well in the limited overs format in the recent past.

Sri Lanka played its last T20 series against Bangladesh at home in July 2025. There it had to face a 2-1 defeat. In such a situation, the Sri Lankan team would like to return to form before the Asia Cup by performing well in this Zimbabwe series.
