Previously, this record was held by West Indies' legendary batsman Stafanie Taylor, who achieved this feat in 129 innings.

Combining the statistics for men's and women's cricket, Smriti Mandhana has become the third-fastest woman to reach 5,000 runs. Only Babar Azam (97 innings) and Hashim Amla (101 innings) are ahead of her in this regard. Mandhana has reached the third-fastest mark on the list with 112 innings.

Smriti Mandhana has become the first female cricketer to score 1,000 ODI runs in a calendar year. She achieved this feat in a World Cup match against Australia. Australia's Belinda Clark holds the record for the second highest run-scorer in this format, having scored 970 runs in 1997. Mandhana has already scored four ODI centuries this year and will become the leading run-scorer for women in ODIs in 2025.
