After returning from the England tour, Indian captain Shubman Gill will be seen playing domestic cricket. He has been made the captain of the North Zone for the Duleep Trophy, the first tournament of the domestic season. The Duleep Trophy is starting on 28 August. The last title of the Duleep Trophy was won by India A, captained by Mayank Agarwal. The team defeated India C by 132 runs in the final round.
Shubman Gill's team has players like Ayush Badoni, Yash Dhull, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Anshul Kamboj. North Zone's first match will be against East Zone. Which will be played from 28 to 31 August at BCCI's Center of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru.
Gill also played in the Duleep Trophy last year and captained the India A team in the first match. However, under his captaincy, India A lost by 76 runs against Abhimanyu Easwaran-led India B team. Gill captained Punjab in the last season of Ranji Trophy.
