Shakib Al Hasan Retirement Reversal, Farewell Series in All Formats: Shakib Al Hasan Reverses Retirement: Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has announced that he is reversing his retirement from Test and T20I cricket. Speaking on Moeen Ali's podcast "Beard Before Wicket," he clarified that he has not yet officially retired from all three formats (Test, ODI, and T20I).
He stated, "I haven't retired from all formats yet. My plan is to return to Bangladesh, play a full domestic series (T20I, ODI, and Test), and then retire from all three formats simultaneously." He expressed his final wish to simply play one complete series and bid farewell to his fans.

Shakib (Shakib Al Hasan Reverse Retirement) further added, "I mean, I can retire from all three formats. It doesn't matter whether it starts with T20Is, ODIs, Tests, or Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. I just want to play one full series and then retire, that's all I want."
It's worth noting that Shakib Al Hasan has not returned to Bangladesh since May 2024. He has been outside the country since the Awami League government was removed on August 5. Shakib, a former Awami League MP, was named in an FIR in a murder case, even though he was not in the country at the time. Following this, he played Test matches in Pakistan and India. The second Test against India in Kanpur was his last international match.
When asked if he would return to Bangladesh, Shakib said, "I hope so. That's why I'm playing T20 leagues. I think it will happen." Shakib also said that he wants a respectable farewell by playing a home series in his country so that he can thank his fans.
