Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went into the IPL 2026 mini auction with ₹16.40 crore after retaining 17 players. The team already had a strong squad, so their main aim was to add good backup players.
RCB bought eight players in the auction. Their biggest buy was Venkatesh Iyer, who they signed for ₹7 crore. He is a useful all-rounder and gives balance to the team. RCB also picked Mangesh Yadav for ₹5.20 crore. He is a left-arm fast bowler who can also bat a bit. He plays domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh under RCB captain Rajat Patidar.
Satvik Deshwal impressed RCB as a net bowler last season and was rewarded with an IPL contract. Jacob Duffy was signed as a backup for Josh Hazlewood, so RCB have cover in fast bowling.
RCB also signed Jordan Cox for ₹75 lakh. The England wicketkeeper-batter has done well in T20 leagues. Young Indian players Kanishk Chouhan and Vihaan Malhotra were also picked. Both are Under-19 players and are seen as future talents. Vicky Ostwal adds more spin options.
Overall, RCB already had a strong team and the auction helped them cover all important areas. The squad looks balanced, and RCB will try hard to defend their IPL title in 2026.
