Rohit Sharma gave a big update on Mohammed Shami's injury: India's Test captain Rohit Sharma has given an update on the recovery of fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Rohit said that it is not certain whether Shami will be a part of Team India in the Test series starting in Australia next month. Recently, when a report came out about Mohammed Shami that his knee was swollen during rehab, he was very angry with the media.
He lashed out at the media by writing a post on social media and called all the reports baseless, which said that Shami was injured. However, now captain Rohit Sharma himself has told that Shami had a knee injury. It is not possible to say right now whether he will be able to play in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

Rohit Sharma said in the press conference before the Bengaluru Test match, "Honestly, it is difficult to select him for the Australia series. He had another injury and his knees were swollen. This worsened his condition a bit and he had to start again. He is at the NCA (National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru) with doctors and physios. We do not want to take an unfit Shami to Australia. We are hoping that Shami is taken to Australia."
Rohit Sharma further said, "It is very difficult for a fast bowler, because he has missed a lot of cricket and then suddenly performing his best, it is not ideal. We want to give him enough time to recover and be 100 percent fit. Physio, trainer, doctors have prepared a roadmap for him. He should play some practice matches before playing international cricket."

Mohammed Shami has played 64 Test matches for India, in which he has taken 229 wickets at an impressive average of 27.71.
India will play five Test matches in Australia from November 22. Shami is one of India's main bowlers. His seam and swing bowling can trouble any batsman on any wicket. If he does not go on the Australia tour, it will be a huge loss for India. His absence will increase the responsibility of Jasprit Bumrah.
