The source said, "After Roger Binny's term ends on July 19, Rajiv Shukla can be made the acting president of BCCI. The new BCCI president will be elected in the month of September at the end of this year.

Born on 19 July 1955 in Mysore, Binny was an important player in the 1983 World Cup winning team. He is the first Anglo-Indian of Scottish origin to play cricket for India. He took 47 and 77 wickets respectively in 27 Tests and 72 ODIs. He has 629 runs in 49 innings in ODIs and 830 runs in 41 innings of Tests.

Roger Binny took over as the President of BCCI on 18 October 2022. Prior to this, he was the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association for 3 years (from 3 October 2019 to 18 October 2022).

When the BCCI President retires, Team India will be in England during this time. There will be a 5-match Test series here, the first match of which will be played on 20 June. The third Test of the series will be played on 10-14 July, after which Roger Binny will retire before the fourth Test.
