A blockbuster clash is on the cards as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match number 52 of IPL 2025. On Saturday, 3rd May 2025 , the game will take place in Bengaluru's storied M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.. This fixture carries added emotion as it could mark the final IPL face-off between two legends — Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. With contrasting campaigns so far, both teams have plenty at stake, albeit for different reasons.
RCB come into this contest riding a strong wave of form. Bengaluru appears to be solidly in the running for the playoffs as they sit third in the standings with 14 points from 10 games. They have emerged victorious in four of their last five matches, including a convincing six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in their previous outing.
On the other hand, CSK's campaign has been forgettable. They are already out of the running for the playoffs, sitting at the bottom of the table with only two victories in ten games. However, pride is still on the line, and MS Dhoni’s men will be eager to finish strong and test their young guns ahead of future seasons.
The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is known for high-scoring games thanks to its shorter boundaries and batting-friendly pitch. However, as the tournament progresses, the surface has shown signs of slowing down, bringing spinners and bowlers with variations into play. A score around 180-200 is usually competitive at this venue.
Clear skies with low risk of rain are forecast for Bengaluru on the day of the match. Temperatures are likely to hover between 25°C to 30°C during the evening, ensuring perfect conditions for cricket.
Interestingly, RCB broke their Chepauk curse earlier this season with a thumping 50-run victory over CSK and will look to build on that confidence at home.

Considering the form book, home advantage, and the balance in the squad, RCB enter this clash as favorites. Their recent dominance, especially at home, and CSK’s struggles this season tilt the balance in their favor. The AI model, factoring in team form, past head-to-head results, and player performances, gives RCB a 68% chance of winning this fixture, while CSK are given a 32% chance — though one can never rule out a spirited fightback led by Dhoni and his young brigade.
