Rajasthan Royals (RR) were active at the IPL 2026 Auction held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16. The inaugural IPL champions bought nine players and focused on strengthening their squad with a mix of young Indian talent and experienced players.
RR entered the auction with a purse of ₹16.05 crore and nine slots to fill, including one overseas spot. The franchise made smart and controlled moves throughout the auction.
Ravi Bishnoi Becomes RR’s Biggest Buy
Rajasthan Royals started the auction strongly by signing Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi for ₹7.4 crore. RR won a tough bidding war against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to secure his services. Bishnoi’s pace and wicket-taking ability will add strength to RR’s spin attack.
Rajasthan Royals Focus on Uncapped Indian Players
Staying true to their tradition of backing young talent, RR added several uncapped Indian players. They signed Sushant Mishra, Vignesh Puthur, and Yash Raj Punja to build depth for the future.
RR also entered a bidding war with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to buy another uncapped player, Ravi Singh, showing their interest in developing raw talent.
RR Late Additions Complete the Squad
After a major coaching overhaul, the Jaipur-based franchise made a few late signings. They bought Aman Rao, Brijesh Sharma, and Kuldeep Sen to strengthen their Indian bench.
RR’s only overseas signing in the auction was New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne, who was bought in the last accelerated round. Milne adds experience and pace to the bowling attack.
