According to ESPNcricinfo's report, differences have emerged between Gary Kirsten and the players. He also has differences with the PCB over coaching staff decisions. Kirsten had reportedly requested the appointment of David Reid as high performance coach, which was not in line with PCB's priorities, leading to tension.
He had told the board that he would not go to Australia with the team without him. The PCB did not listen to him. Apart from this, Kirsten was not following his two-year contract, according to which he had to stay in Pakistan. He had refused to do this to the board. One reason is also being told that Kirsten was upset with the excessive interference of the selection committee. The PCB had refused to let him appear in the selection panel, due to which he was disappointed.
