In a bizarre incident during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25, Khulna Tigers’ pacer Oshane Thomas gave away an astounding 15 runs off a single delivery against Chittagong Kings. The event unfolded in dramatic fashion during the Kings’ chase of a daunting target of 204 set by the Tigers, courtesy of William Bosisto’s stellar 75 off 50 balls. Thomas’s over quickly became one to forget as he struggled to find his rhythm and accuracy.
It all began with a fuller delivery that resulted in a straightforward catch inside the 30-yard circle. However, the umpire declared it a no-ball, granting the batter a reprieve and a free-hit. What followed was chaos: Thomas bowled a dot ball but then conceded a massive six on the subsequent delivery, which was again ruled a no-ball. The drama escalated further as two consecutive wide balls added to his woes.
Thomas's troubles peaked when another no-ball was dispatched for four, piling on the misery. Remarkably, by the time he managed to deliver a legitimate third ball of the over, 15 runs had already been scored without a legitimate ball being counted. The sequence of deliveries—nb, 0, 6nb, wide, wide, 4nb—made for one of the most unusual and costly overs in BPL history, highlighting the unpredictability of cricket.

Khulna Tigers’ captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, visibly exasperated by Oshane Thomas’s costly over that included four no-balls, decided to take him out of the bowling attack for the rest of the match. This tactical adjustment ensured no further damage from Thomas’s erratic performance. Despite the setback, the Tigers managed to maintain control and secured a convincing 37-run victory, with the Chittagong Kings being bowled out for 166 runs.
