Australia has suffered a major setback ahead of the series. Regular wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis has been ruled out of the tour due to injury. Josh Inglis suffered this injury during a training session in Perth. Scans confirmed a strain, marking his second such injury in the past year. He previously suffered the same issue during the Boxing Day Test against India last year. Inglis's absence is a significant blow to Australia, as he has emerged as a key player in the T20I team in recent years. He has scored two centuries at number 3 and plays a crucial role in balancing the top order of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head and the middle order of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Tim David.

The team management hopes that Inglis will be fit for the ODI series against India, which begins on October 19.

Absence of key players

In addition to Inglis, the team is also facing the absence of several key players. Captain Pat Cummins is out with a back injury, while Cameron Green is busy preparing for the Sheffield Shield. Furthermore, fast bowler Nathan Ellis will be unable to play on this tour due to the birth of his first child. Inglis' injury has further compounded the team's difficulties.

Alex Carey has been included in the team in place of Inglis, and this is a golden opportunity for him to make a comeback.
