New Zealand batsman Devon Conway has not been selected in New Zealand's squad for the T20 tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa. New Zealand's new head coach Rob Walter announced the squad on Friday. The veteran batsman is one of several prominent players who turned down a central contract with New Zealand Cricket to play in professional T20 leagues overseas. Conway last played for New Zealand in the T20 World Cup in June last year.
Former captain Kane Williamson is playing for Middlesex in England's County Championship and has made himself unavailable.
Auckland batsman Bevon Jacobs is the only player in the 15-member squad who has not played any international match yet. Jacobs was a member of the New Zealand team that played against Sri Lanka in December, but did not play any match.
Fast bowler Adam Milne has been included in the team for the first time since November after performing well in Major League Cricket in America. Batsmen Finn Allen and Tim Seifert have also returned to the team, which will be captained by Mitchell Santner. Allen recently set a world record in Major League Cricket by hitting 19 sixes in an innings of 151 runs for San Francisco Unicorns. The triangular series will be played in Harare from 14 to 26 July.
