New Zealand Announces Squad for ODI and T20I Series Against India: The New Zealand Cricket Board has announced its squad for the three-match ODI and five-match T20I series against India next month. The Kiwi team has undergone significant changes for this tour. While some senior players have been rested, domestic cricket stars have been given a chance to shine.

New Zealand will field two different captains on the India tour

• ODI team: Experienced all-rounder Michael Bracewell will captain the team in the ODI series.
• T20 team: Mitchell Santner, who is returning from injury, has been assigned the responsibility of the T20 team. Santner was out of the squad due to a groin injury, but he is now fully fit.

The biggest news in this team selection is the selection of Jayden Lennox. Lennox, who has performed exceptionally well in domestic cricket, has been included in the Kiwi ODI team for the first time. Apart from them, young players like Christine Clarke, Adi Ashok, Josh Clarkson, Nick Kelly, and Mitchell Ray have also found a place in the ODI team.

Why are veteran players missing?

Big names like Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra are missing from the team, for different reasons:

• Kane Williamson: He will be playing in the SA20 League and is therefore unavailable for the India tour.
• Tom Latham: Test captain Latham is about to become a father, so he has taken a break.
• Injury: Matt Henry (calf injury), Nathan Smith, Blair Tickner, and Mark Chapman were not included in the ODI team due to injuries.
• Workload Management: Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra have been excluded from the ODI squad. Rested after a long season.
