The New Zealand Cricket Board announced the annual central contract list for 2024-25. In this list of 20 players, 4 players were included for the first time, including one player of Indian origin, whose luck has changed. The 20-player contract list also includes Rachin Ravindra's Wellington team-mate Ben Sears, Canterbury's Will O'Rourke and Otago's Jacob Duffy, along with left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel, who has been included in the list after being out of contract last year.
Rachin Ravindra got a place in the central contract list for the first time
New Zealand cricket team's star all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has been included in the central contract for the first time due to his excellent performance in the last one year along with the ODI World Cup 2023. The 24-year-old batsman scored 578 runs in the ODI World Cup 2023 and was fourth among the highest run-scorers. This was the biggest first Test century scored by a New Zealand batsman and also got included in the team's T20 team.

What did Rachin say after joining the Central Contract for the first time?
After getting a place in the Annual Central Contract for the first time, the young star said that growing up you see the contract list every year and think that one day it would be nice to be included in that list and now this is a big moment for me. The last 12 months playing international cricket have been really great. I have learned a lot and definitely have a hunger to improve and contribute to the Blackcaps. From the players to the support staff, it is a very special group. And honestly, it has been the most fun part too. Playing your favorite game with your friends is a very special thing and I hold it very close to my heart.
