New Zealand announced squad for the Test series against Zimbabwe: The New Zealand Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the two-Test series against Zimbabwe to be held from 30 July to 11 August 2025. This series is not part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), due to which many senior players have been rested or were not available for selection. Both Test matches will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, the first match will start from 30 July and the second from 7 August.

Fast bowler Matt Fisher has been included in the New Zealand Test team for the first time. This is a golden opportunity for him to make his debut in international Test cricket. Apart from this, spinner Ajaz Patel has also returned to the Test team, who was part of the historic 3-0 Test series win against India in Mumbai in November last year. Batsman Henry Nicholls has also returned to the Test team for the first time since December 2023.

Former team captain Kane Williamson has decided to stay out of this series to manage his schedule. All-rounder Michael Bracewell is not available due to his pre-scheduled commitment in The Hundred tournament in England. Fast bowler Ben Sears has been ruled out due to a side injury, and his recovery may take two to four weeks. Apart from this, star fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has made himself unavailable for this tour as he awaits the birth of his first child.
